ADO-Pumper skills test
Date: May 25th @ 8:30 a.m.

Written and skill evaluations listed are open to firefighters throughout the state. Note: You must contact the Certification Coordinator prior to participating in a skills testing event if your name is not on the original examination request form. Candidates must provide a Firefighter Written/Manipulative Skills Certification Examination Request Form in order to participate in an event. Candidates must provide a training record for each evaluation he/she will be participating in. If you are interested in participating in one of the written or skill examinations listed above, please contact the Certification Coordinator at 307-777-7288, or rita.lee@wyo.gov.

Required Equipment for a Skills Evaluation: Candidates must have a signed request for certification form and a completed training record in order to participate in the skills evaluation.

1. Each candidate participating in a skills evaluation is REQUIRED to bring the following approved, NFPA compliant personal protective clothing and equipment to the test site:
-Fire fighting helmet.
-Fire fighting gloves.
-Fire fighting boots (rubber or leather).
-Protective hood.
-Turnout coat.
-Protective pants with suspenders.
-Safety glasses or goggles (ANSI Standard Z87.1 compliant).
-Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Candidates may be exposed to an IDLH environment during the course of testing. Each candidate testing must be properly fit-tested to his or her SCBA face piece mask.
-Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) Device. (It may be stand-alone or integrated into the SCBA).
2. Candidates may not wear nylon or polyester clothing due to the potential of thermal injuries from fire fighting operations during the course of the test.
3. The following is RECOMMENDED and is left up to the applicant's discretion:
-Long sleeve cotton tee shirt.
-Long trousers.
-Outer garments suitable to the weather.
-Water or sports drinks to maintain proper hydration.
-Sun screen (if appropriate to the weather).

Outdoor testing during inclement weather (thunder/lightning storms, snow or icy conditions) is a major safety concern. Candidates should always be aware and alert to changing weather conditions. If a test is changed due to inclement weather, your agency will be notified as soon as possible by the Lead Tester and/or the Certification Office. Candidates will be notified of the date, time and location of the rescheduled test by their Fire Chief/Head of Department.
